Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for a Clinical Manager – Burn Care opportunity with UMC in Las Vegas.

UMC is an academic medical center and home to Nevada’s only nonprofit Level I Trauma Center, Verified Burn Center, and Multi-Organ Transplant Center. This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced nurse leader with a strong background in Burn Care, Critical Care, and Pediatrics.

Position Overview

The Clinical Manager is responsible for providing leadership and oversight of the Burn Care clinical unit. This position manages nursing staff, staffing levels, clinical operations, quality and performance improvement, budgeting, and compliance with nursing and hospital standards.

The Clinical Manager will work in a high-acuity environment and play an important role in supporting safe, high-quality patient care while leading and developing the nursing team.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience.
• Minimum of 2 years in a nursing supervisory or higher-level leadership role.
• Minimum of 5 years of recent Burn Care and/or Critical Care nursing experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of Pediatrics nursing experience.
• Strong Nurse Leader or Clinical Manager experience.
• Experience working in a high-stress, high-acuity clinical environment.
• Experience with staff education, outreach, data review, presentations, meeting management, and performance improvement related to Burn Care and patient outcomes.

Alternative Experience:
Candidates may be considered with 4 years of experience in a nursing lead role along with completion of the required hospital management training program.

LICENSE & CERTIFICATIONS

• Current, valid Nevada Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• BLS certification required.
• Additional certifications may be required depending on the position, including:
  • ACLS
  • TNCC
  • PALS
  • NRP
  • Specialty-area certifications
• Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) must be obtained within one year of hire.

LEADERSHIP & CLINICAL REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience with:

• Leading and managing nursing staff in a high-acuity environment.
• Developing staffing plans and determining appropriate staffing levels.
• Staff supervision, training, coaching, and performance management.
• Quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
• Data analysis, review, and presentation.
• Patient care standards, safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance.
• Shared governance and collaborative decision-making.
• Meeting management and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Working with Magnet® and/or Pathway to Excellence standards.
• Making operational decisions and effectively leading during high-stress situations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference may be given to candidates with:

• Previous experience in an Ambulatory Burn setting.
• Previous nursing leadership experience within a Magnet®-recognized organization.
• Additional specialty certifications related to Burn, Critical Care, or Pediatrics.
