Responsibilities

• Research, evaluate, and purchase automotive components for each new model trial event.

• Correlate and select suppliers to ensure stable quality, competitive cost, and on-time delivery.

• Maintain excellent communication with suppliers regarding design changes for trial and mass-production products.

• Issue supplier documents, including contracts, agreements, forecasts, Requests for Quotation (RFQs), Maker Layout Letters, and other documentation.

• Develop, gain approval for, and execute purchasing strategies for assigned commodities and suppliers.

• Achieve new-model and mass-production cost targets through effective supplier selection and negotiation.

• Maintain effective supplier relationship management.

• Maintain supplier documentation through Q-Pulse.

• Communicate with suppliers regarding RFQs, event orders, pricing, and terms.

• Issue expense purchase orders.

• Develop products with suppliers through the new-model event process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience

• Minimum of one year of experience in Purchasing, Sales, Quality Control, or Engineering

• Project management experience

• Strong time-management skills

• Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain management

• Demonstrated ability to negotiate based on logic

• Demonstrated ability to manage costs

• Demonstrated ability to manage customer and supplier relationships

• Demonstrated ability to develop and present clear, concise proposals

• Basic math skills

• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications and email

• Strong cost-analysis skills

Desired Skills

• Ability to analyze technical drawings

• Ability to work as part of a project team to accomplish organizational goals

• Familiarity with international standards and conducting international business

• Familiarity with financial statements

Working Conditions

• Lifting up to 40 lbs: approximately 0.5 hour per day

• General office environment: approximately 7.5 hours per day

• Manufacturing environment: approximately 0.5 hour per day

• Domestic and international travel may occasionally be required

• Overtime may be required, including unplanned and unscheduled overtime, to meet deadlines and business requirements
