Full Job Description
We are hiring Diesel Mechanics for a Freightliner company in Victoria, TX. Diesel experience is NOT required — candidates with automotive, mechanical, or related hands-on experience are encouraged to apply.
This is a shop-based position working on commercial trucks. We are looking for mechanically inclined individuals ranging from entry-level candidates looking to grow their skills to experienced diesel technicians.
Essential Functions
• Perform general maintenance and repairs on commercial trucks
• Complete oil changes and preventative maintenance
• Perform brake and suspension work
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues
• Remove and replace mechanical components as needed
• Use hand, power, and automotive tools safely
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow all shop and safety procedures
Skills & Competencies
• Automotive, mechanical, or diesel experience
• Mechanically inclined with strong troubleshooting skills
• Experience using hand and power tools
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to learn diesel and commercial truck repair
• Strong attention to safety and quality
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
• Previous automotive or mechanical experience
• Basic mechanical knowledge
• Ability to perform physical shop work
Preferred:
• Diesel or heavy-duty truck experience
• Brake and suspension experience
• Own basic mechanic tools
• Previous shop experience
Diesel experience is not required.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift 80–100 lbs as needed
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work throughout the shift
• Ability to perform physically demanding mechanical work
