Scrap Metal Yard located in Hellertown is Hiring a Dayshift General Laborer to assist with incoming scrap metal loads

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include but are not limited to the following:

 

When in the Ferrous yard area, required to sort, handle and identify incoming non-ferrous scrap and relocate material to the proper drop-off area in the warehouse.

When in the Non-Ferrous yard area, will sort, handle and identify non-ferrous scrap and relocate material to the proper drop-off area in the warehouse.

When in the Warehouse area, sort, handle and identify incoming non-ferrous scrap material (copper, brass, aluminum).

Uses torches, plasma cutters, and various equipment including but not limited to balers, wire strippers, chop saws, and shears.

May be required to operate a bobcat or forklift.

Maintains good housekeeping in the area of the lower yard and in other assigned work areas. This includes sweeping sidewalks, scale platforms, and other assigned work areas (weather permitting).

Occasionally be required to perform the essential job duties and responsibilities of Warehousemen or Burner.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job. 

 

$16-$17 starting rate, but increase with experience

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.). One to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
