Material Handler

We are seeking a reliable, safety-focused Material Handler to support fast-paced warehouse and manufacturing operations in Blacksburg, VA. In this role, you will help keep production running smoothly by safely moving raw materials, finished goods, and supplies throughout the facility while maintaining accurate inventory and an organized work environment.

First Shift and Second Shift Available

What You'll Do

• Safely transport raw materials, finished products, and supplies throughout the facility using stand-up forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
• Load and unload trucks while verifying materials and shipments for accuracy.
• Deliver materials to production lines to help maintain efficient manufacturing operations and minimize downtime.
• Move finished products to designated storage, staging, or shipping locations.
• Accurately scan, label, and track inventory using handheld scanners and warehouse management systems.
• Perform routine inventory checks and assist with cycle counts as needed.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in accordance with 5S and housekeeping standards.
• Complete pre-use inspections of forklifts and other material handling equipment and promptly report safety or maintenance concerns.
• Follow all company safety procedures, quality standards, and operating guidelines.
• Support additional warehouse and production activities as needed to meet operational goals.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, distribution, or material handling environment preferred.
• Previous stand-up forklift experience is strongly preferred.
• Forklift certification preferred, or willingness and ability to obtain certification.
• Basic computer skills and experience with inventory systems or handheld scanners are a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to keep materials and inventory organized.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Dependable attendance, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to workplace safety.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on position. Team members must be able to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Frequently bend, stoop, reach, and perform other physical tasks associated with material handling.
• Frequently lift, carry, push, or move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
• Work in a warehouse and manufacturing environment where temperatures and noise levels may vary and moving machinery is present.

Work Environment

This position operates in a fast-paced warehouse and manufacturing facility where safety, accuracy, and teamwork are essential. Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required based on the work area. All employees are expected to follow established safety procedures and contribute to a clean, organized, and productive workplace.
