Industrial Maintenance Technician – Electrical / PLC

Job Description

Express Employment Professionals is hiring an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician for a full-time 3rd Shift opportunity within a manufacturing environment. This position focuses heavily on industrial electrical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, PLC-controlled equipment, motors and drives, instrumentation, and production equipment repair.

We are seeking a skilled maintenance professional with 3–5 years of relevant industrial electrical or maintenance experience who can diagnose equipment problems, complete repairs efficiently, and help minimize production downtime.

This is a skilled industrial maintenance position and requires previous hands-on electrical troubleshooting experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain plant electrical systems and production equipment.
• Diagnose and repair AC/DC motors, motor drives, circuits, breakers, starters, fuses, and electrical control systems.
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled machinery and equipment.
• Understand PLC operation and use ladder logic to assist with equipment diagnostics.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
• Wire control cabinets and electrical components according to drawings and specifications.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on electrical and production equipment.
• Perform electrical testing, calibrations, adjustments, and repairs.
• Troubleshoot and maintain plant instrumentation and related control systems.
• Identify equipment failures and determine appropriate corrective actions.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and complete repairs safely and efficiently to minimize production downtime.
• Complete work orders, maintenance logs, and required documentation accurately.
• Follow established electrical, maintenance, and plant safety procedures.
• Assist with equipment installation and additional industrial maintenance responsibilities as needed.

Requirements & Qualifications

• 3–5 years of industrial electrical or industrial maintenance experience preferred.
• Previous experience troubleshooting electrical equipment in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong industrial electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Hands-on experience with PLCs, AC/DC motors, drives, instrumentation, control systems, and electrical preventive maintenance.
• Ability to understand PLC operation and troubleshoot ladder logic.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Experience troubleshooting circuits, breakers, starters, fuses, motors, and related electrical components.
• Ability to wire electrical control cabinets from drawings.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Ability to diagnose equipment failures efficiently and work with limited supervision.
• Strong attention to safety, accuracy, and maintenance documentation.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years of relevant industrial electrical or maintenance experience preferred.
• Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, or a related technical field preferred.
• Relevant technical education, hands-on training, and industrial maintenance experience will be considered.

Shifts & Hours

3rd Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM

Training Schedule:
New hires will initially train on 1st Shift, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, before transitioning to the regular 3rd Shift schedule.

• Full-Time
• Overtime as needed

Pay & Benefits

• $20.00 – $30.00 per hour, dependent on prior industrial maintenance experience, electrical knowledge, and technical qualifications.
