Position Summary

The Manufacturing Planner is responsible for creating, maintaining, and executing production schedules to ensure materials, labor, and equipment are aligned with customer demand and production goals. This role serves as a key liaison between operations, purchasing, engineering, quality, logistics, and customer service to support efficient manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain production plans and schedules based on customer orders, inventory targets, and sales forecasts.
  • Coordinate with purchasing and inventory teams to ensure raw materials and components are available when needed.
  • Monitor work orders, production progress, and material availability; adjust schedules to address delays or resource constraints.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, logistics, and operations teams to resolve production and delivery issues.
  • Analyze production capacity and workload to optimize labor and equipment utilization.
  • Track and report key performance metrics, including on-time delivery, inventory turns, and schedule adherence.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records within ERP/MRP systems and communicate schedule updates to stakeholders.
  • Assist with cost reduction, productivity improvement, and process optimization projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, manufacturing coordination, or supply chain operations.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Proficiency with JD Edwards required.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, capacity planning, and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
