Job Description

Express Employment Professionals is hiring experienced Material Handlers for full-time 1st and 3rd Shift opportunities within an industrial metal warehouse environment. This position is responsible for receiving, moving, organizing, staging, and shipping metal products and industrial materials.

We are seeking candidates with prior manufacturing or industrial warehouse experience who are comfortable working around heavy and oversized materials. This is a hands-on position requiring strong material handling skills, attention to detail, basic math, and the ability to accurately measure products.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, inspect, and store incoming shipments of metal products and industrial materials.
• Pull, stage, and prepare customer orders according to pick tickets and shipping schedules.
• Verify part numbers, quantities, measurements, and materials for order accuracy.
• Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, side loaders, and other material handling equipment to safely transport metal stock.
• Load customer trucks and delivery vehicles while ensuring materials are properly positioned, secured, and protected from damage.
• Handle long, heavy, and oversized metal products throughout the warehouse.
• Measure metal products accurately using a tape measure.
• Identify, label, and organize metal inventory within designated storage locations.
• Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against packing slips, purchase orders, and shipping documentation.
• Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and stock replenishment.
• Maintain accurate inventory and material movement records.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
• Follow all safety procedures when handling and transporting metal products.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Prior experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Previous warehouse, material handling, shipping/receiving, or inventory experience preferred.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Experience with overhead cranes, side loaders, or similar material handling equipment is a plus.
• Ability to read and accurately use a tape measure.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Basic inventory management and order verification skills.
• Ability to read pick tickets, packing slips, purchase orders, and shipping documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and order accuracy.
• Ability to safely work around metal stock and industrial equipment.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.

Physical Requirements

Candidates must be able to:

• Safely lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Handle long, heavy, and oversized metal products with appropriate equipment and assistance.
• Stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform material handling duties throughout the shift.
• Safely load, unload, stage, and organize industrial materials.
• Work in an active industrial warehouse and manufacturing environment.

Shifts & Hours

1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
3rd Shift: 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM

• Full-Time
• Overtime as needed

Pay & Benefits

• $17.00 – $18.00 per hour, dependent on prior experience.
