Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior CNC Machinist to perform complete setup and operation of CNC vertical and horizontal milling machines. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with CNC milling, blueprint reading, setup procedures, troubleshooting, and mentoring machine operators while ensuring parts meet customer specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Set up parts from inception to completion using work instructions and customer specifications.
• Operate and set up CNC milling machines, including Matsuura, Kitamura, DN Solutions, Makino, Haas, and Tsugami equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, job travelers, and work instructions.
• Utilize pre-written G-Code programs and perform minor machine-side edits when required.
• Indicate fixtures, load tools, establish offsets, and perform machine setup activities.
• Conduct first-piece inspections to verify compliance with customer specifications.
• Train and support CNC operators running established setups.
• Monitor production and inspect work-in-process parts.
• Troubleshoot machining and setup issues.
• Perform deburring and secondary operations as needed.
• Collaborate with Quality to ensure inspection requirements are met.
• Maintain production and quality documentation.
• Follow ISO 9001 procedures, company policies, and safety requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of CNC machining experience, specifically with CNC milling.
• Experience setting up and operating CNC milling machines independently.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Proficiency using micrometers, calipers, and precision measuring equipment.
• Strong understanding of G-Code and the ability to edit programs at the machine using Fanuc controls.
• Experience with tooling selection, material properties, machining strategies, and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of X, Y, and Z coordinates, geometry, and machining concepts.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to mentor and support CNC operators.
• Experience with horizontal milling machines is a plus.
• Multi-pallet horizontal machining experience is a plus.
• Forklift and scissor lift certification is a plus.
