We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Stamping Press Operator to join our Automotive manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining stamping presses to produce high-quality metal components efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience with various machinery and tools used in precision manufacturing. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic production environment focused on quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Pay Rate: $22/hour - $25/hour (based on experience)

Shifts: Days 7am - 3:15pm, Afternoon 3pm - 11:15pm, Nights 11pm - 7:15am. (must be flexible to work all shifts)

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor stamping presses to ensure precise metal forming according to specifications
  • Load and feed raw materials into the press and monitor production throughout the run.
  • Inspect stamped parts to ensure they meet customer specifications and quality standards.
  • Use calipers, gauges, micrometers, and other measuring equipment for dimensional inspections.
  • Identify defective parts and make appropriate adjustments or notify the supervisor or maintenance team.
  • Perform basic machine adjustments, troubleshooting, cleaning, and routine maintenance.
  • Assist with die changes, tooling setup, and press changeovers as required.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine proper machine settings
  • Perform routine inspections of tools and equipment, including calipers and hand tools, to maintain optimal operation
  • Adjust machine parameters as needed for different production runs, ensuring consistent quality
  • Conduct quality inspections of finished parts using measurement tools and visual checks
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times
  • Follow safety guidelines related to crane operation, forklift handling, and other heavy equipment

Skills

  • Previous experience operating stamping presses or similar manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience in metal stamping or automotive manufacturing is an asset.
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions, blueprints, and basic technical drawings.
  • Basic knowledge of press tooling and die operations.
  • Ability to use calipers, gauges, and other measuring instruments.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Previous forklift or overhead crane experience is an asset.
  • Must be willing to follow all workplace safety requirements.
  • Knowledge of welding techniques and quality inspection procedures
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing safety standards and protocols
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues efficiently
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining high standards of quality

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform repetitive bending, reaching, and handling tasks.
  • Ability to lift and move materials as required.
  • Ability to work around operating machinery and manufacturing noise.
  • Must wear required PPE, including safety footwear and hearing/eye protection where applicable.
