Operations Manager

Located in South Jordan, UT

Salary: Annually: $75,000

• Lead daily production across digital printing and shrink sleeve operations.
• Manage production schedules, staffing priorities, workflow, and equipment utilization.
• Monitor KPIs including OEE, throughput, scrap, downtime, efficiency, and on-time completion.
• Identify production issues and implement corrective actions to improve performance.
• Coordinate changeovers, preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, and reliability initiatives.

• Lead, coach, and develop production leads, technicians, and operators.
• Establish clear expectations for performance, accountability, safety, and teamwork.
• Support onboarding, employee training, and cross-training across production processes.

• Partner with Quality to ensure decorated cans meet customer specifications and quality standards.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring quality or production issues.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives to increase throughput and reduce waste.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance on process improvements, equipment upgrades, and new technology.

• Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with applicable OSHA and environmental requirements.
• Ensure proper handling and disposal of inks, chemicals, and regulated manufacturing waste.
• Work closely with Sales, Customer Service, Graphics, Logistics, Inventory, Quality, and Maintenance to align production with customer needs.
• Support pilot runs, R&D projects, and new product launches.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations, production management, or plant operations.
• Proven experience leading production teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Industry experience in packaging, printing, beverage manufacturing, aluminum can decorating, or high-volume production is strongly preferred.
• Technical knowledge of digital printing and/or shrink sleeve application processes is considered a strong asset.
• KPI Management experience tracking metrics such as OEE, scrap, downtime, throughput, and efficiency.
• Continuous Improvement expertise using Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, or other structured methods.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and decision-making abilities.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements and manufacturing safety practices.
• Hands-on, accountable attitude with a comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
