Process Technician

Located in Caledonia, MI

Salary: $26-$30/HR, BOE

Process Technician Summary: A Grand Rapids manufacturer specializing in medical, automotive, and office furniture is looking for an experienced Process Technician to join their growing team on 2nd shift. 

 

Process Technician Requirements:

• Collaborate with the Manufacturing Supervisor to ensure all injection molding processes are set up according to specs
• Manage all aspects of the injection molding process, including setup, teardown, troubleshooting, and equipment maintenance
• Work closely with production and engineering teams to ensure molded components meet quality standards
• Monitor KPIs: scrap rates, machine efficiency, and production schedules to support customer demands
• Manage raw molding materials to ensure traceability and prevent contamination
• Track downtime to ensure efficient die sets and material changes, and support the planning and completion within allowed periods
• Assist in the development of die setters and material handlers

• Support supervisors with making sure all production reporting, die set sheets, and material logs are accurate and filled out

• Other duties as needed

Secondary Duties:

• Assist with mold changes/material handling
• Assist in Shipping/Receiving
• Assist with samples as requested
• Assist in inventory control on shop floor
• Assist in training of material handlers, die setters, and operators
• May fill in for supervisor as needed (upon completion of training)
• Capable of filling out End of Shift Report

 

Schedule & Pay:

• 2nd Shift: 2:45 PM to 11:15 PM, Monday-Friday - Overtime and weekends as needed
• $26-$30/HR, based on Experience 

Process Technician Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in an injection molding technical position
• Proven ability to set up injection molding presses, program robots, and troubleshoot processes
• Must pass a basic injection molding test with a minimum of 90% accuracy
• Associate degree in Injection Molding Technology or a BA in Manufacturing Engineering is preferred
• Interpersonal and time management skills
• Ability to accept responsibility for the quality of all parts manufactured on shift
