Saw Operator – Stockton, CA

Shift: 1st & 2nd Shift Available — Must Be Open to Either Shift

 

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced and dependable Saw Operator to join a local manufacturing company in Stockton. This is a hands-on fabrication position responsible for safely operating industrial saw equipment and cutting raw materials to specified dimensions.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate industrial saw equipment to cut metal and other materials according to work orders, drawings, and specifications
• Measure and verify material dimensions using tape measures, calipers, gauges, and other measuring tools
• Review work orders to determine material type, dimensions, quantities, and cutting requirements
• Load, position, secure, and remove materials safely
• Select appropriate saw settings, speeds, feeds, and blades based on job requirements
• Inspect completed cuts for accuracy and quality
• Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance
• Replace or assist with replacing saw blades and tooling when properly trained
• Maintain production counts and required documentation
• Label and organize cut materials for the next stage of production
• Minimize material waste and scrap
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, machine guarding, and lockout/tagout procedures
• Work with production, quality, maintenance, and warehouse teams to meet production goals

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing, machine operation, saw operation, metal fabrication, or related industrial experience preferred
• Experience operating band saws, cold saws, or similar industrial cutting equipment preferred
• Ability to read and understand work orders, production instructions, and basic drawings
• Ability to accurately use a tape measure and other measuring tools
• Basic math skills, including fractions and decimals
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to recognize potential equipment or material issues
• Dependable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, twisting, and repetitive movements
• Ability to handle and position materials, tools, and equipment
• Ability to lift and/or move materials up to 50 lbs., with assistance or mechanical equipment when appropriate
• Ability to safely work around moving machinery
• Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and safety footwear

Work Environment

This position is performed in an industrial manufacturing environment and may involve exposure to moving machinery, metal materials, noise, dust, oils, lubricants, and temperature variations. All required safety procedures and PPE must be followed.
