General Assembly – Manufacturing Associate

$17.00–$18.00/hour
Day Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM

Express Employment Professionals is currently seeking reliable and detail-oriented General Assembly Associates for a local manufacturing company in Stockton. These are hands-on production positions involving assembly, material handling, and basic manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical and electrical components according to work instructions, drawings, and production specifications
• Assemble components and hardware using hand tools, power tools, fixtures, and production equipment
• Identify and select the correct components and materials for each assembly
• Follow established assembly sequences and standardized work procedures
• Perform repetitive assembly and general production tasks while maintaining quality and productivity standards
• Inspect components and completed assemblies for damage, defects, proper installation, alignment, and overall quality
• Use basic measuring tools and gauges as required
• Properly handle and protect electrical, mechanical, and metal components
• Maintain accurate production counts and required documentation
• Label, organize, and move completed assemblies and components to designated production areas
• Report defective materials, incorrect components, equipment problems, or quality concerns to the appropriate supervisor
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow 5S, housekeeping, and safety procedures
• Use hand and power tools safely after appropriate training
• Work collaboratively with the production team to meet quality and production goals

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing, production, assembly, or a related field
• Experience assembling mechanical or electrical components is preferred
• Previous experience using hand and power tools in a manufacturing environment is preferred
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to read and understand basic assembly instructions, diagrams, drawings, and production documentation
• Basic mechanical aptitude and measurement skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining consistent quality
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Strong work ethic and ability to work as part of a team

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the work shift
• Ability to frequently reach, bend, twist, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements
• Ability to handle, assemble, position, and manipulate small and large components
• Ability to lift and/or move materials up to 50 lbs., with assistance or mechanical lifting equipment when appropriate
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools
• Ability to work around manufacturing machinery and equipment
• Ability to wear required PPE
