Punch Press Operator – Stockton, CA

Express Employment Professionals is currently seeking experienced Punch Press Operators for a local manufacturing company in Stockton, CA!

Pay & Schedule

• Location: Stockton, CA

• Shifts Available: 1st & 2nd Shift

• Must be open and available to work either 1st or 2nd shift

• Pay: Depending on experience

Job Duties

• Set up and operate punch press equipment to punch, form, stamp, and fabricate metal components

• Review work orders, blueprints, drawings, and production instructions

• Select and install appropriate dies, punches, tooling, and fixtures

• Load, position, and safely remove metal materials from the equipment

• Adjust machine settings as needed to meet production specifications

• Perform first-piece inspections and inspect completed parts for quality and accuracy

• Use tape measures, calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring instruments

• Monitor machine operation and make authorized adjustments as needed

• Identify and report equipment malfunctions, tooling issues, material defects, and quality concerns

• Maintain accurate production counts and required documentation

• Remove scrap and maintain a clean, organized work area

• Follow all safety procedures and required PPE guidelines

• Work with the production team to meet quality and production goals

Qualifications

• Previous Punch Press Operator experience preferred

• Manufacturing, machine operation, metal fabrication, or stamping experience preferred

• Experience operating manual, mechanical, hydraulic, or CNC punch press equipment is a plus

• Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, and work orders

• Knowledge of dimensions, tolerances, and basic fabrication requirements

• Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and tape measures

• Basic math skills, including fractions and decimals

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

• Ability to perform repetitive production and material-handling tasks

• Reliable attendance and punctuality

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Must be flexible and willing to work either 1st or 2nd shift

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

• Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, twist, squat, and perform repetitive movements

• Ability to lift and/or move materials up to 50 lbs., with assistance or mechanical equipment when appropriate

• Ability to safely handle metal components and materials

• Ability to work safely around moving machinery and industrial equipment

• Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and safety footwear

Work Environment

This position is performed in a manufacturing environment and may involve exposure to moving machinery, metal materials, sharp edges, noise, oils, lubricants, and varying temperatures.

Safety is a top priority. Associates must follow all established safety procedures and operate equipment only when properly trained and authorized.
