Planer Operator

Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Planer Operator for a local client. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced lumber production environment with a company that values safety, teamwork, and reliability.

Pay

• $23.00 per hour

Job Responsibilities

• Relieve and fill in for planer department employees during breaks, vacations, sick leave, and other temporary absences
• Assist in a variety of planer mill operations, including production support, lumber handling, banding, stacking, clean-up, and forklift operation
• Operate machinery and equipment safely and efficiently
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow all company safety procedures and production standards
• Work as part of a team to ensure smooth and efficient mill operations

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Experience operating machinery is preferred
• Familiarity with lumber grades and quality standards is helpful
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work safely in a production environment
• Good depth perception, hand-eye coordination, and eyesight required for operating equipment
• Ability to perform physical work in an industrial setting
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Requirements

• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen
• Must successfully complete a WorkSTEPS physical evaluation
