Machine Operator

We are seeking an experienced Machine Operator to join a manufacturing team on first shift. This position is responsible for operating burning equipment, processing steel plate materials, maintaining production records, and ensuring materials are processed accurately and efficiently while meeting quality and safety standards.

Job Duties

Operate burning machines to cut steel plate materials according to production specifications
Set up and adjust machinery, guides, stops, and worktables to ensure accurate cutting operations
Install and maintain burning tips and related equipment
Locate, identify, retrieve, and store materials accurately for production and inventory purposes
Process materials efficiently to maximize utilization and minimize waste
Read and interpret production drawings, templates, specifications, and work instructions
Perform machine adjustments to maintain cutting accuracy and production efficiency
Complete required production paperwork and maintain accurate records
Notify supervisors when gases, oxygen supplies, or equipment components require replacement
Operate overhead cranes and forklifts as needed
Assist with warehouse duties when production work is unavailable
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards
Perform additional duties as assigned to support operations

Qualifications

Previous burning machine operation experience required
Experience with plate processing and steel fabrication preferred
Ability to read and interpret production drawings and technical specifications
Experience creating templates and basic drafting preferred
Overhead crane and forklift experience preferred
Strong mathematical skills, including geometry, measurements, fractions, and decimals
Basic computer skills
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds independently
Ability to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, climb, and perform physical labor throughout the workday
Ability to safely operate industrial machinery and material handling equipment
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment around heavy equipment and steel materials
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position for the majority of the workday

Full-time position
First Shift
Hours: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
