Looking for a hands-on job where you're not stuck in one place all day?

We are hiring a Forklift Operator / Material Handler in Rochelle, IL. This position combines forklift operation, material handling, order preparation, and customer service in a busy environment.

If you have experience operating a sit-down forklift and enjoy physical, active work, we'd like to hear from you. 

What You'll Do

You'll help keep materials and customer orders moving safely and accurately throughout the facility. Responsibilities include:

• Operate a sit-down/counterbalance forklift to move, stage, load, and unload materials
• Pick and prepare materials to complete customer orders
• Load and unload trucks and customer vehicles
• Verify products and quantities for accuracy
• Measure and handle building materials of various sizes and lengths
• Use hand tools and other equipment as required
• Assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Keep work areas organized, clean, and safe
• Work both independently and with other team members to complete daily priorities
• Follow established safety procedures when handling materials and operating equipment

What We're Looking For

Successful candidates will be dependable, safety-minded, and comfortable performing physical work throughout the day.

Preferred qualifications include:

• Previous sit-down or counterbalance forklift experience
• Material handling, warehouse or similar experience
• Ability to accurately measure and identify materials
• Comfortable using basic hand tools
• Strong attention to detail
• Good communication and customer-service skills
• Ability to follow safety procedures and work instructions
• Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic
• Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements

This is an active position that requires the ability to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods
• Bend, reach, carry, push, pull, and handle materials throughout the workday
• Load, unload, and move building materials
• Safely operate a forklift and other required equipment
• Perform work in varying indoor and outdoor weather conditions
