We have an opening for a Graphic Designer position working at a custom sign shop located in Hartselle, AL. This is an evaluation-to-hire opportunity with potential for full-time placement.

Skills/Qualifications

Qualified candidates must possess a strong work portfolio demonstrating creative and client-focused design work.

Must have proficiency in industry-standard design software.

Experience designing materials for digital publishing, high-end digital printing, and large format printing.

Strong artistic ability with an eye for layout, typography, color theory, and visual hierarchy.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Ability to work independently with little or no guidance.

Must be capable of working an entire work week on a consistent basis.

Punctuality and dependability.

 

Duties/Responsibilities

Meet with clients or the design team to understand signage needs, brand guidelines, and project scope.

Develop digital or hand-drawn design plans for signs, including logos, banners, and promotional graphics.

Choose appropriate colors, fonts, images, and layouts that align with the client’s brand and message.

Use design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other relevant software to produce high-quality visuals.

Work closely with production teams to ensure designs are practical for manufacturing and installation.

Incorporate client feedback and implement adjustments as necessary until the final design meets all requirements.

Review designs for accuracy, brand consistency, and manufacturability before approval.

Stay updated on current design trends, technologies, and signage industry standards.
