What You’ll Be Doing

• Operate heavy-duty yard forklifts (including high-capacity equipment up to 15,000 lbs) to safely move, stage, and stack wide bundles of structural lumber.

• Supply production tables, staging decks, and automated saws with the correct materials according to job sheets.

• Communicate actively with team members to look ahead at orders, stage bundles in advance, and keep the line rolling without delays.

• Spend approximately 90% of your day operating equipment outside in an active yard environment across all seasons.

• Assist on the ground when needed, including measuring, staging, and light material prep to keep operations running smoothly.

What We’re Looking For

• Practical experience operating heavy equipment, lumber yard, or pneumatic-tire forklifts with wide, heavy, or shifting loads.

• Strong communication skills and a proactive mindset—someone who plans the next move ahead of time rather than waiting around.

• Comfort and readiness to work outside in Midwest weather conditions year-round.

• Ability to follow job sheets accurately and utilize a standard tape measure.

• Solid reliability: showing up on time, every day, ready to get to work.
