Position Title: Class A / Class B Driver with Rigging Experience

Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Class A or Class B Driver with Rigging Experience to transport, load, unload, and assist in the installation, relocation, and movement of heavy equipment and materials. The ideal candidate will have experience operating commercial vehicles, handling oversized or specialized loads, and performing rigging operations safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate Class A or Class B commercial vehicles in compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.
  • Transport equipment, machinery, materials, and oversized loads to customer and job sites.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, trailers, and equipment.
  • Safely load, unload, secure, and transport cargo using chains, straps, binders, and other tie-down equipment.
  • Assist with rigging, hoisting, lifting, positioning, and moving heavy equipment using cranes, forklifts, hoists, and other material handling equipment.
  • Interpret load charts, rigging plans, and lifting procedures.
  • Inspect rigging equipment, slings, chains, hooks, and lifting devices before use.
  • Maintain accurate transportation logs, inspection reports, and delivery documentation.
  • Coordinate with project managers, crane operators, site supervisors, and customers to ensure safe and timely project completion.
  • Follow all OSHA, DOT, and company safety requirements.
  • Perform basic maintenance and housekeeping of vehicles and equipment.
  • Travel to local and regional job sites as required.

Qualifications

  • Valid CDL Class A or Class B License with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of commercial driving experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in rigging, heavy hauling, machinery moving, construction, or industrial environments.
  • Knowledge of proper rigging techniques, load securement, and safe lifting practices.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, boom lifts, and related equipment (certification preferred).
  • Understanding of DOT regulations and transportation safety standards.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and understand job-site instructions and safety procedures.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50-100 pounds.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, standing, and walking.
  • Comfortable working around heavy equipment and construction environments.

Preferred Certifications

  • NCCCO Rigger Certification
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
  • Forklift Certification
  • Signal Person Certification
  • TWIC Card (if applicable)
