Estimator & Quoter – CNC Precision Manufacturing

Location: Beamsville, Ontario
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent, Direct Hire 
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Pay: $30.00–$33.00 per hour, based on experience

Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for an Estimator & Quoter on behalf of a well-established, mid-sized CNC precision manufacturing company in Beamsville. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on manufacturing professional with a strong understanding of machining, CNC operations, and job costing.

The ideal candidate will have approximately 5 years of CNC machining experience, or 3–5 years of experience in estimating, quoting, and job costing within a machining/manufacturing environment.

Position Overview

The Estimator & Quoter will be responsible for reviewing customer drawings and requirements, determining manufacturing processes, preparing accurate quotations, and estimating labour, materials, tooling, machining time, and other production costs.

This role is well suited to someone who understands how parts are actually machined and can use that knowledge to develop accurate and competitive quotes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review customer drawings, specifications, and RFQs to determine manufacturing requirements
  • Prepare accurate estimates and quotations for CNC precision-machined components
  • Calculate labour, material, tooling, machine time, setup time, and other production costs
  • Determine the most efficient machining processes and manufacturing methods
  • Review part complexity, tolerances, quantities, materials, and finishing requirements
  • Understand CNC milling and turning operations and determine appropriate machine capabilities
  • Apply knowledge of tooling, cutting methods, feeds and speeds, setup requirements, and machine capacities
  • Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and blueprints
  • Use SolidWorks to review and understand 3D models and part designs
  • Work with production and shop-floor personnel to validate estimated machining times and processes
  • Review previous jobs and historical costing information to improve quotation accuracy
  • Communicate with customers and internal teams regarding specifications, lead times, materials, and pricing
  • Identify potential production challenges, risks, and cost considerations before quoting
  • Maintain organized quotation records and follow up on outstanding RFQs
  • Assist with continuous improvement of estimating and quoting processes

What We're Looking For

  • Approximately 5 years of CNC machining experience, ideally with both mills and lathes; OR
  • 3–5 years of experience in CNC estimating, quoting, and job costing
  • Strong understanding of manual machining and CNC machining operations
  • Knowledge of CNC mills, lathes, tooling, machine capacities, and shop terminology
  • Ability to understand machining processes and determine realistic production times
  • Strong blueprint and engineering drawing interpretation skills
  • Knowledge of precision measurements and tolerances
  • Experience working with SolidWorks
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with production and management teams
