Express Employment Professionals is partnered with a company in Harrison Township, MI who is a leading manufacturer of prefabricated aluminum commercial buildings, commonly used as security checkpoints.

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Aluminum Fabricator / MIG Welder to join a growing production team.

Pay - $21.00 - $23.00/hour

Shift - 6:00am - 2:30pm, Monday - Friday

Responsibilities

  • Inspect machines, tools, and materials to ensure safe and proper operation.
  • Cut aluminum parts according to Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Shear aluminum sheet and plate following shop plans and specifications.
  • Form panels and components for aluminum structures.
  • Install and fasten structural components.
  • Assist in the fabrication and assembly of prefabricated aluminum buildings.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform repetitive bending, lifting, reaching, and material handling duties.
  • Safely lift and move materials weighing between 10 and 150 pounds.

Qualifications

  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Prior fabrication, manufacturing, construction, or welding experience preferred.
  • Ability to read shop drawings and follow production specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

Welding Qualification Requirement

This position requires employees to become certified in aluminum welding shortly after hire. Company-paid training and testing will be provided.

Employees must successfully pass the AWS Qualification Record Test for GMAW Aluminum in the following positions:

  • 1F (Flat Fillet Weld)
  • 2F (Horizontal Fillet Weld)
  • 3F (Vertical Up Fillet Weld)

Testing will typically occur after a brief training and onboarding period. Continued employment is contingent upon successfully obtaining this welding qualification. Candidates who are unable to meet the certification requirements may not remain eligible for employment.
