Material Handler 

Schedule : Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm

Overview 
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Material Handler to join our team. This role involves pulling, 
loading, receiving, and moving steel materials to support warehouse and production operations. The 
ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace 
safety. 
Responsibilities 
• Follow all established safe work practices and immediately report unsafe conditions to a 
supervisor. 
• Safely move steel materials to and from storage, production areas, loading docks, and 
delivery vehicles using forklifts, overhead cranes, or other material handling equipment. 
• Attach slings, hooks, and lifting devices to loads and safely guide materials during 
movement. 
• Load, unload, secure, and release materials on delivery vehicles and trailers. 
• Lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds and perform physical work throughout the shift. 
• Apply proper bundling and material-securing techniques. 
• Configure loads based on delivery routes and multiple-stop shipments. 
• Maximize trailer load capacity while maintaining safe loading practices. 
• Maintain and safely operate assigned tools and equipment, including tape measures, 
calipers, hammers, pallet trucks, banding machines, micrometers, beam hooks, lifting clamps, 
forklifts, overhead cranes, and required PPE. 
• Identify and report equipment safety concerns promptly. 
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and other 
environmental conditions. 
• Maintain awareness of surrounding personnel, vehicles, equipment, and work activities. 
• Attend required meetings and training sessions. 
• Perform other duties as assigned. 
Qualifications 
• Ability to read work orders and understand verbal instructions. 
• Ability to meet or exceed established productivity standards safely. 
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment. 
• Ability to develop a working knowledge of products, inventory, and warehouse procedures. 
• Strong communication skills across departments regarding routing, safety, and customer 
requirements. 
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. 
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 
• Customer service skills when interacting with customers or drivers.

• Regular use of hands and fingers to handle materials and equipment. 
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, squat, and climb throughout the workday. 
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds. 
• May be required to lift and carry heavier materials consistent with safe work practices. 
• Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. 
Working Conditions 
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those encountered while 
performing the essential functions of this position. 
• Exposure to moving mechanical equipment and warehouse traffic. 
• Exposure to airborne particles, dust, and varying weather conditions. 
• Moderate to high noise levels may be present. 
• Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
