The Human Resources Staffing Specialist is responsible for supporting the full-cycle recruitment and onboarding process to help the organization attract, hire, and retain qualified talent.
This position works closely with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, develop effective recruiting strategies, identify qualified candidates, and provide a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, people-focused, and comfortable managing multiple open positions and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Manage full-cycle recruitment for assigned positions, including job postings, candidate sourcing, resume review, screening, interviewing, selection, and offer coordination.

Partner with hiring managers to identify current and upcoming staffing needs and establish candidate qualifications and hiring priorities.

Develop and maintain job descriptions and candidate profiles for open positions.

Source qualified candidates through job boards, social media, networking, employee referrals, community partnerships, and other recruiting channels.

Conduct candidate phone screens and interviews to evaluate experience, qualifications, communication skills, and overall fit for the position.

Coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers and maintain consistent communication throughout the hiring process.

Coordinate pre-employment requirements, including assessments, background checks, reference verifications, and controlled substance testing.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate information, interview notes, and recruiting activity within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).

Support new-hire onboarding, including required documentation, orientation coordination, and communication with new employees.

Ensure recruiting and hiring practices comply with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws as well as internal company policies.

Develop and maintain relationships with external recruiting partners, staffing agencies, schools, community organizations, and other talent sources.

Support recruiting efforts across multiple company locations as needed.

Track recruiting activity and key metrics, including open positions, candidate pipelines, hiring activity, time-to-fill, and quality of hire.

Participate in employer branding, recruitment marketing, career fairs, and other initiatives designed to strengthen the organization's talent pipeline.

Provide a professional and positive candidate experience from initial contact through onboarding.

2+ years of experience in recruiting, staffing, talent acquisition, or a related Human Resources role.

Working knowledge of recruiting practices, employment laws, and HR compliance requirements.

Strong interviewing and candidate evaluation skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and external partners.

Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple open positions, deadlines, and competing priorities.

Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of assigned recruiting responsibilities.

Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience recruiting across multiple locations preferred.

Experience recruiting within the transportation industry is a plus.

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.

Must be able to successfully complete required pre-employment screening, including a federally compliant controlled substance test and criminal background check.

Experience recruiting for transportation, operations, skilled trades, administrative, or other high-volume positions would be especially valuable.
