Position Summary

The Electrician Project Manager (Union) is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing electrical construction projects from award through completion. This role oversees project budgets, schedules, union labor, subcontractors, material procurement, safety compliance, and client relations while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with all contract requirements.

The Project Manager works closely with field supervisors, union electricians, estimators, customers, and vendors to deliver successful commercial, industrial, institutional, and government electrical projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Project Management

• Manage multiple electrical construction projects simultaneously.
• Develop project schedules, milestones, and resource plans.
• Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Review contract documents, specifications, drawings, and project requirements.
• Manage project documentation, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and closeout packages.

Union Labor Management

• Coordinate workforce requirements with union halls and company field leadership.
• Manage labor productivity and staffing levels.
• Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements and union work rules.
• Support foremen and general foremen in executing project objectives.
• Resolve labor-related issues in collaboration with management and union representatives.

Financial Management

• Prepare and maintain project budgets and forecasts.
• Review labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Track job cost reports and productivity metrics.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
• Negotiate and process change orders.
• Review and approve invoices, purchase orders, and subcontractor payments.

Client and Vendor Relations

• Serve as primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.
• Attend owner, architect, contractor, and coordination meetings.
• Maintain strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Address client concerns and provide project status updates.

Procurement and Material Management

• Coordinate material procurement and delivery schedules.
• Review equipment and material submittals.
• Ensure proper allocation of project resources.
• Work with vendors to minimize delays and resolve supply chain challenges.

Safety and Compliance

• Promote a strong safety culture throughout all projects.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
• Participate in safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
• Support field leadership in maintaining safe job sites.

Required Qualifications

• Journeyman Electrician certification or equivalent electrical trade experience.
• Minimum 5 years of electrical construction experience.
• Minimum 3 years of project management experience.
• Experience managing union electrical projects.
• Strong knowledge of commercial and industrial electrical systems.
• Understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Ability to interpret electrical plans, specifications, and contracts.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Strong computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• OSHA 30 Certification.
• Experience with design-build and negotiated projects.
• Knowledge of project management software such as Procore, Accubid, Bluebeam, Viewpoint, or Primavera P6.
• Experience managing projects valued at $1M-$50M+.
