Truck Driver

Position Summary

The Truck Driver is responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely transportation of goods to customers, warehouses, distribution centers, and other designated locations. This role requires compliance with all company policies, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and safety standards while providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate commercial vehicles safely and professionally.
• Transport goods to designated destinations on schedule.
• Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Report mechanical issues, accidents, or safety concerns promptly.
• Load, unload, and secure cargo when required.
• Verify shipping documents, bills of lading, and delivery receipts.
• Maintain accurate driver logs and electronic logging device (ELD) records.
• Follow DOT, FMCSA, and company safety regulations.
• Plan routes and communicate effectively with dispatch and operations teams.
• Ensure cargo is delivered in good condition and on time.
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance.
• Provide courteous and professional customer service.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B, as required.
• Minimum age of 21 years for interstate driving.
• Clean driving record and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Ability to pass DOT physical examination and drug screening.
• Knowledge of applicable transportation and safety regulations.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous commercial driving experience.
• Experience with dry van, flatbed, refrigerated, or specialized equipment.
• Forklift certification.
• Hazardous Materials (HazMat) endorsement.
• Knowledge of ELD systems and transportation management software.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to climb in and out of trucks and trailers safely.
