Job Title: MIG /TIG Welder                                                                                   

General Description of Job:

The MIG/TIG Welder is responsible for producing quality welded components that meet customer specifications and company standards. This position involves welding mild steel, aluminum, and stainless steel using MIG and/or TIG welding processes. The Welder is expected to follow all safety, quality, and production requirements while working efficiently, maintaining a clean workspace, and collaborating with team members and supervisors.

 

Essential Job Tasks:

·         MIG/TIG Welder will complete all required internal and external paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.

·         Report problems or situations to Department Lead or Supervisor in a prudent and timely fashion as they arise.

·         Communicate effectively with engineers, expeditors, managers, office staff and employees.

·         Set a good example for others to follow.

·         Maintain all quality standards required within the department.

·         Inspect all parts manufactured for quality and efficient production methods and report all inconsistencies to Department Lead or Supervisor in a timely manner.

·         Abide by Employee Handbook including regular attendance and working cooperatively.

 

Other Job Tasks:

·         Meet all company requirements relating to the use of the time clock as well as all other policies and procedures established by Superior Steel Fabrication.

·         Maintain a clean and organized work area.

 

Knowledge, Skill and Experience Requirements:

·         The ability to read prints.

·         Be detail oriented.

·         Ability to multi-task.

·         Be self-directed and motivated.

·         Have good basic math skills.

·         Must be able to produce quality welds in an efficient manner.

 

Education, License and Certification Requirements:

·         High school education, or higher, is preferred.

·         Must meet all ISO required training as appropriate.

 

Amount of Supervision Required to Perform Job:

·         Must be able to perform with minimal supervision.
