Duties

• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, standards, and presentation guidelines.
• Assist in menu planning and ingredient selection to ensure freshness and quality.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations.
• Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients.
• Support catering events and special functions by preparing meals efficiently and accurately.
• Use knife skills proficiently for chopping, slicing, dicing, and other food prep tasks.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service and uphold high standards of food quality.
• Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and communicate needs for restocking.
• Follow all safety procedures related to food handling, sanitation, and equipment use.
• Contribute to a positive team environment by demonstrating professionalism and enthusiasm.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is advantageous.
• Proven culinary experience in fine dining or restaurant settings preferred.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, including cooking methods and meal assembly.
• Familiarity with food safety standards and proper handling procedures.
• Experience with menu planning, catering, and serving is desirable.
• Excellent knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• Knowledge of the food industry trends and best practices related to kitchen operations.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
