A leading company specializing in the design, engineering, and manufacturing of components for commercial aircraft cabin interiors and in-flight entertainment systems is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Custodian to join its team in Northridge.

Summary: The Custodian will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, organized, and well-maintained facility, including offices, restrooms, assembly areas, and the machine shop. This position will also perform general building maintenance and assist with various facility-related tasks as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the entire facility.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and perform general cleaning duties.
• Collect and dispose of trash and other facility waste.
• Clean and maintain restrooms, offices, machine shop, assembly areas, and common areas.
• Monitor and maintain adequate inventory of janitorial and cleaning supplies.
• Order janitorial supplies as needed.
• Perform basic building maintenance, including: Replacing light bulbs, Repairing or replacing door handles and hardware, Moving pallets and materials as needed and assembling and setting up new furniture.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization within the machine shop.
• Dispose of machine chips and debris according to company procedures.
• Operate a forklift to move materials and pallets as needed.
• Assist with basic maintenance of the facility's compressor and dryer systems.
• Identify maintenance or facility issues and communicate them to the appropriate personnel.
• Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
• Perform other custodial and facility-support duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Approximately 2 years of previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of building and facility maintenance.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize daily responsibilities.
• Ability to safely handle cleaning chemicals, equipment, and facility materials.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Forklift experience/certification is a plus.
• Reliable, dependable, and committed to maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
