Senior Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician

Location: Chelmsford, MA

Hours: M-F, 7AM – 3:30PM

Pay: $26-$28 per hour DOE

Full Time, Temp to Perm

 

 

Summary:

The Electro Assembly Tech is an Experienced manufacturing position.  The Electro-Assembly Tech will be a key team member in manufacturing of our Client's product line of industrial equipment. 

 

. This position is responsible for assembling and wiring electrical and pneumatic components within machines, including connecting individual components to the main electrical harness and pneumatic chassis.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and assembly skills, be comfortable working with hand and power tools, and be able to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings. Since our assembly processes are primarily taught through hands-on training, the successful candidate must be an attentive learner who can retain technical information, take detailed notes, and apply training consistently.  Attention to detail, quality workmanship, and a strong commitment to workplace safety are essential.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and install electrical and pneumatic components.
  • Wire various machine components to the main electrical harness and pneumatic chassis.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
  • Route, terminate, label, and secure electrical wiring and pneumatic lines according to specifications.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and electrical assembly equipment safely and effectively.
  • Inspect completed assemblies for proper installation, wiring, fit, and workmanship.
  • Troubleshoot basic wiring and assembly issues and make corrections as needed.
  • Take clear and organized notes during training and use those notes as a reference when performing future assemblies.
  • Demonstrate the ability to retain and apply training with increasing independence.
  • Ask questions and seek clarification when instructions or assembly requirements are unclear.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all applicable OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Communicate effectively with engineering, manufacturing, and other team members to resolve assembly issues.

 

Reports to:

Production Supervisor

 

Requirements of the Electro-Mechanical Assembly Tech:

  • Technical High School plus 5 years relevant experience required. 
  • Capable of multitasking within a fast-paced, manufacturing group.
  • Electronic/electro-mechanical assembly skills; Complex P2P wiring
  • Highly skilled operation of hand and power tools.
  • Able to read both electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Proficient in the English language, both written and spoken.

 

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to use fingers and hands to constantly operate production machinery and an array of hand and power tools.
  • Must be able to move up to 50 pounds as required.
  • Must be able to constantly position self while working on machines, including, but not limited to, underneath and inside machinery.
  • Must be able to constantly work in a stationary position.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed to support the Manufacturing Schedule.
