Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Package Handler/Sorter to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately sorting, handling, and processing packages to ensure timely delivery and optimal warehouse operations. Responsibilities

• Sort incoming and outgoing packages according to destination, size, and weight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts and manual handling techniques.
• Load and unload shipments safely using material handling equipment, including forklifts and automatic inserting machines.
• Maintain accurate records of package movement through data entry into warehouse management systems.
• Assist with shipment sorting, mailing distribution, and mail processing tasks to ensure efficient delivery.
• Organize packages within the warehouse for easy retrieval and inventory management.
• Support shipping and receiving activities by preparing packages for dispatch, including labeling and documentation.
• Perform routine warehouse operations such as filing, inventory checks, and organization of materials.
• Conduct outdoor work as needed for loading or unloading shipments outside the facility.
• Operate warehouse equipment safely while adhering to all safety protocols.
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily productivity goals while maintaining high safety standards.

Requirements

• Previous experience in warehouse operations or distribution centers is preferred.
• Proficiency in using forklift trucks and other material handling equipment.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications for data entry and record keeping.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting safely.
• Basic math skills for inventory counts and shipment calculations.
• Experience with shipment sorting, mail distribution, and shipping & receiving processes.
• Knowledge of automatic inserting machines is a plus.
• Outdoor work experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Excellent attention to detail combined with good communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
