HSE Coordinator

Location: Ogden, UT

Pay: $35/hr

Job Summary:

The HSE Coordinator will support occupational safety and environmental compliance within a manufacturing environment. This role will work closely with employees, supervisors, contractors, and the HSE Manager to identify hazards, maintain compliance, investigate incidents, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required, plus at least one year of completed college coursework in HSE, environmental science, industrial hygiene, engineering, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in HSE, environmental compliance, manufacturing, maintenance, operations, or a related field preferred.
  • Working knowledge of workplace safety practices, including hazard recognition, JSA/JHA, LOTO, machine guarding, PPE, Hazard Communication, and incident investigation.
  • Familiarity with environmental compliance programs, including hazardous waste, stormwater, air emissions, chemical management, spill prevention, and Tier II reporting.
  • Strong communication, organization, time management, documentation, and follow-through skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic recordkeeping systems; OSHA General Industry and First Aid/CPR/AED certifications preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine workplace inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and ergonomic/industrial-hygiene assessments; identify hazards and track corrective actions through completion.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining JSAs, risk assessments, procedures, and HSE programs, including LOTO, machine guarding, PPE, emergency response, and contractor safety.
  • Support incident, injury, near-miss, spill, and property-damage investigations by gathering information, conducting interviews, documenting findings, and following up on corrective actions.
  • Maintain HSE records, including inspection reports, incident documentation, corrective-action logs, training records, chemical inventories, and Safety Data Sheets.
  • Support environmental compliance activities involving hazardous waste, chemical storage, stormwater, wastewater, air emissions, spill prevention, and regulatory reporting.
  • Conduct approved HSE training, participate in safety meetings and emergency drills, verify contractor documentation, and immediately escalate serious hazards or stop work when an immediate danger is identified.
