Position Summary
The Branch Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and success of the branch. This role requires a strong people leader who can effectively lead, manage, and hold team members accountable while fostering a positive and productive work environment.
The Branch Manager oversees daily operations, employee development, process improvements, customer relationships, inventory management, and financial performance. This individual will identify opportunities to improve productivity, increase sales, and drive profitability while ensuring operational excellence across all branch functions.
The ideal candidate is a decisive problem solver who can coach and develop employees, collaborate across departments, and ensure consistent execution of organizational goals and expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & People Management
- Lead, manage, and hold employees accountable for performance, productivity, quality, attendance, and adherence to company standards.
- Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.
- Develop team members through coaching, training, mentoring, performance feedback, and evaluations.
- Identify and support opportunities for employee growth and professional development.
- Address performance concerns promptly, fairly, and professionally.
- Participate in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding activities.
- Establish clear expectations and follow through to ensure accountability.
- Lead by example and reinforce organizational values and culture.
Daily Branch Operations
- Oversee day-to-day branch operations and ensure effective coordination among all departments.
- Communicate across teams to maintain consistent execution of processes and procedures.
- Identify operational inefficiencies and implement process improvements.
- Enhance productivity by streamlining workflows, reducing waste, and eliminating unnecessary steps.
- Ensure customer orders, projects, and branch responsibilities are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and professional facility.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, safety requirements, and applicable regulations.
Customer Service & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and business partners.
- Promote and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Resolve customer concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen customer relationships and expand business growth.
- Foster a customer-focused culture throughout the organization.
Sales Support & Product Knowledge
- Partner with the sales team and assist with customer opportunities as needed.
- Develop knowledge of product lines, equipment, accessories, and supporting components.
- Serve as a resource for customers and employees regarding product-related inquiries.
- Conduct sales and operations meetings as needed.
- Monitor sales opportunities and work collaboratively to drive revenue growth and market expansion.
Inventory & Asset Management
- Manage branch inventory and company-owned assets.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure efficient utilization of available resources.
- Monitor product availability and coordinate replenishment activities.
- Order equipment, products, and materials based on customer demand and operational requirements.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels while minimizing excess and obsolete stock.
- Monitor inventory accuracy and assist in resolving discrepancies.
Financial Management & Profitability
- Oversee branch expenses and support budgeting and cost-management initiatives.
- Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Recommend and implement initiatives that improve profitability and operational efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining quality and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor branch productivity and financial performance.
- Identify and capitalize on growth opportunities.
- Maintain accountability for achieving branch goals, objectives, and performance targets.
Qualifications
- Previous management or leadership experience required; experience in truck equipment, automotive, manufacturing, dealership, distribution, or a related industry preferred.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Demonstrated success coaching, developing, motivating, and holding employees accountable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service and relationship-building capabilities.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to make sound business decisions and effectively manage competing priorities.
- Experience analyzing financial and operational data.
- Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability and willingness to learn industry-specific products, equipment, specifications, and terminology.
- Experience with inventory management and cost-control practices preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to successfully complete required background checks, physical examinations, and drug screening.
