Express Employment Professionals of Bradenton, FL is currently hiring for a Estimator position for a Flooring company based in Manatee/Sarasota County, FL
Duties:
- Review architectural plans, blueprints, and specifications to determine flooring scope and project requirements for new construction projects.
- Perform detailed digital takeoffs using on-screen digitizing and estimating software to calculate square footage, linear footage, and required material quantities.
- Prepare accurate, detailed cost estimates including materials, labor, waste factors, freight, and other applicable project costs.
- Select appropriate flooring products, including carpet, vinyl, tile, hardwood, LVP, and other materials, based on builder specifications, project requirements, and budget.
- Obtain, review, and compare vendor and supplier pricing to develop competitive and accurate bids.
- Communicate with builders, contractors, project managers, and sales teams to clarify project scope, specifications, and pricing requirements.
- Manage multiple active bids and projects simultaneously while meeting established deadlines and maintaining accuracy.
- Maintain organized digital files containing plans, takeoffs, estimates, pricing, and supporting documentation for each project.
- Follow up on submitted bids and revise estimates as plans, specifications, quantities, or project requirements change.
- Coordinate with purchasing and installation teams to ensure an accurate and efficient handoff of awarded projects.

Requirements
- Previous experience as a flooring estimator, preferably within new construction and/or builder-focused projects.
- Proficiency with computer-based estimating and digitizing software such as MeasureSquare, On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift, or similar platforms.
- Ability to read, interpret, and work from construction blueprints, architectural plans, and project specifications.
- Strong knowledge of flooring materials, installation methods, construction practices, and industry terminology.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple bids and projects while working under deadline pressure.
