Metal Finishing Technician

Located in Bloomington, IN

Salary: $18.00 / hr

We are seeking a detail-oriented Metal Finishing Technician to grind, blend, and polish stainless steel and aluminum pipe, tubing, and fabricated components. This is a fast-paced position requiring consistent work, a strong eye for detail, and the ability to focus while producing smooth, uniform finishes. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with grinders, sanders, polishers, and other power tools.

Job Summary

• Grind and blend welds on stainless-steel and aluminum pipe, tubing, and fabricated components
• Remove weld discoloration, scratches, tool marks, and other surface imperfections
• Produce uniform directional, brushed, satin, or polished finishes as required
• Restore finished areas to a smooth, consistent appearance that matches surrounding material
• Select and properly use grinding wheels, flap discs, sanding belts, conditioning discs, polishing compounds, and other abrasives
• Maintain consistent quality and production in a fast-paced work environment
• Perform other duties as assigned

Experience Required

• Experience using grinders, sanders, polishers, and similar power tools required
• Previous experience with metal grinding and polishing required
• Experience grinding and polishing stainless steel, aluminum, or other architectural metals strongly preferred

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to focus and maintain consistent work throughout the shift
• Ability to produce clean, uniform finishes
• Knowledge of different abrasives and their proper applications
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
• Ability to maintain consistent pace and quality
• Dependable and able to work effectively as part of a team

Pay: $18.00/hr

Position Type: Evaluation

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM
