Extrusion Operator (Apprenticeship Opportunity)
Pay: $22.00/hour; Increase to $23.00/hour after evaluation period
Schedule: Monday-Friday; 3:00 PM-11:00 PM
Training Schedule: First 1-2 weeks; Monday-Friday; 7:00 AM-3:00 PM

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an Extrusion Operator for a growing Chippewa Falls manufacturing company. This apprenticeship-style opportunity is ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in manufacturing. The right candidate will receive hands-on training while learning extrusion operations, print reading, quality inspections, machine operation, and other key production responsibilities. Success in this role requires strong attendance, a positive attitude, mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn and be coached.
In this role, you will start in packaging while learning production processes and gradually advance into machine operation, print reading, quality inspections, and additional extrusion-related responsibilities.
What You'll Do
- Start in packaging while learning extrusion operations
- Assist with operating and monitoring extrusion equipment
- Learn to read prints and production specifications
- Perform hourly quality checks to verify products meet specifications
- Use calipers and tape measures to inspect finished products
- Record measurements and production information
- Monitor materials and support production operations
- Identify minor production issues and communicate concerns
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all company safety and quality procedures
What We're Looking For
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Experience using calipers and tape measures preferred
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and converting inches to feet
- Previous manufacturing, production, warehouse, machine operation, or assembly experience is beneficial but not required
- Strong attendance and reliability
- Positive attitude and willingness to accept coaching
- Ability to adapt to challenges and learn new skills
- Team-oriented mindset with professional communication skills
- Desire to build a long-term career and grow within the organization
- Respectful when working with others
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods, up to 12 hours
- Frequent bending, twisting, walking, reaching, and other physical movements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work safely around production equipment and machinery
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Drug screen required
- Background check required
Transferable Experience Welcome
If you have experience in manufacturing, production, warehouse, assembly, machine operation, packaging, quality inspection, shipping, receiving, or other industrial environments, your skills may transfer well to this opportunity. Previous plastics manufacturing or extrusion experience is beneficial but not required.
