Staff Accountant

We're hiring an accountant for a local company in Santa Cruz County! This position is in an office setting with a supportive team. They're looking for someone who is a self-motivated team player to permanently join their office.

Qualifications:

• Associates/Bachelors degree in accounting/finance/business/or related field
• Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and general ledger
• Proficiency in Excel & ability to learn accounting software
• Strong numerical accuracy
• Detail oriented
• Self-motivated with good follow-through
• Respectful & professional

Job Details:

• Routine journal entries
• Reconcile general ledger & balance sheets account
• Support monthly & year-end closing activities (preparing schedules, gathering documents, completing assignments by deadlines)
• Assist accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, deposits, etc.
• Assist with audits, tax, insurance, banking, etc.
