Our client is seeking a Production Control/Purchasing Coordinator!

 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Production Control & Purchasing Coordinator to oversee production planning, inventory management, purchasing activities, and product cost maintenance. This role plays a critical part in ensuring efficient manufacturing operations by maintaining adequate inventory levels, coordinating raw material and component purchases, tracking production data, and supporting product costing and pricing initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Inventory Control

• Forecast production requirements and assist in production scheduling.
• Monitor finished goods inventory levels and maintain established minimum stock levels.
• Review inventory status regularly and initiate manufacturing orders as needed to support demand and inventory goals.
• Coordinate production schedules to ensure timely product availability.
• Enter and maintain finished goods inventory transactions, including:
• Daily production reporting
• Inventory adjustments
• Raw material, packaging, and purchased parts usage transactions
• Track daily production quantities and metal values using spreadsheets.
• Monitor and record engineering scrap quantities and values.

 

Purchasing & Procurement

• Plan and manage purchases of raw materials, including silver and pewter.
• Obtain pricing and prepare purchase orders for metal requirements.
• Track pewter purchases, lock-ins, and metal usage against contracted quantities.
• Purchase production components and packaging materials, including:
• Wood handles
• Magnets
• Iron stands
• Product boxes
• Silver baby cup handles
• Other production-related components
• Maintain minimum inventory levels for all purchased parts and packaging materials.
• Place purchase orders for factory supplies and monitor inventory levels of critical manufacturing supplies.

 

Manufacturing Order Management

• Generate manufacturing orders to maintain required inventory levels.
• Coordinate with production teams to ensure orders are completed according to schedule.

 

Product Costing & Pricing

• Maintain and update product cost analysis records.
• Add costing information for new products.
• Update labor, material, and component costs as needed.
• Analyze product margins and recommend pricing adjustments to maintain profitability.

 

Product Data Management

• Assign new product codes and maintain product master records.
• Enter new product information into the company's ERP system (MAS90).
• Process and update approved product price changes within the ERP system.

 

Qualifications

• Experience in production planning, inventory control, purchasing, or manufacturing operations.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets and ERP systems, preferably MAS90.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of purchasing procedures, inventory management, and production scheduling.
• Understanding of product costing and pricing analysis.
• Experience working with metals, raw materials, or production components is a plus.
