Position Summary

Seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Soldering & Assembly Technician to perform electronic component soldering, mechanical assembly, inspection, and testing. The ideal candidate has strong hand skills, good attention to detail, and the ability to follow work instructions, drawings, and established quality procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform hand soldering of electronic components, wires, connectors, and circuit boards.

  • Assemble electronic and mechanical components according to drawings, work instructions, and specifications.

  • Inspect solder joints, components, wiring, and finished assemblies for quality and workmanship.

  • Use hand tools, soldering irons, wire strippers, crimpers, microscopes, and other assembly equipment.

  • Read and interpret basic assembly drawings, schematics, bills of materials, and work instructions.

  • Perform basic electrical and functional testing of completed assemblies.

  • Identify and report defective components, workmanship issues, and production problems.

  • Maintain accurate production and inspection records.

  • Follow ESD, safety, cleanliness, and quality-control procedures.

  • Maintain an organized and clean work area.

  • Meet established production schedules while maintaining high-quality standards.

  • Assist with other production and assembly duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in soldering, electronic assembly, manufacturing, or a related field preferred.

  • Ability to perform fine-detail hand work for extended periods.

  • Basic understanding of electronic components and circuit boards.

  • Ability to read and follow written instructions, drawings, and procedures.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 standards.

  • IPC soldering certification.

  • Experience working with wires, connectors, PCBs, cable assemblies, or small electronic components.

  • Experience using microscopes or magnification equipment.

  • Experience in a regulated or quality-controlled manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while performing detailed assembly work.

  • Ability to use small hand tools and soldering equipment.

  • Ability to lift and move materials as required for the position.

  • Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist movements.

  • Ability to work in an ESD-controlled manufacturing environment when required.

Work Environment

This position is performed in a clean manufacturing/assembly environment. Employees are expected to follow all company safety, quality, ESD, and workplace procedures.

Employment Type: Full-Time

Reports To: Production Supervisor or Manufacturing Manager
