Monday through Friday – 6am to 2:30pm

$20hr to $25hr depending on experience.

A recognized leader in the seismic protection industry since 1966, specializing in the design and manufacturing of spring isolators, seismic rails, structural steel frames, equipment bases, vibration pads, hangers, and other engineered custom solutions is seeking a Machine Shop Floater to join their team in Chatsworth.

Summary: This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically inclined individual who wants to gain hands-on experience in a busy manufacturing environment and learn advanced equipment, including robotic saws and tube laser cutting machines. The Machine Shop Floater will provide support throughout the machine shop, assisting wherever needed to keep production running efficiently. The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, and eager to learn.

Responsibilities:

• Assist machine shop personnel with daily production activities.
• Float between various work areas and provide support where needed.
• Learn to operate and assist with robotic saws and tube laser cutting equipment.
• Assist with CNC cutting operations and material handling.
• Support robotic welding operations as trained.
• Load and unload raw materials and finished components.
• Move materials, parts, and equipment throughout the production area.
• Perform basic inspection of parts to ensure they meet quality requirements.
• Assist machine operators with setup, cleanup, and changeovers.
• Follow work instructions, production schedules, and safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Identify and report equipment, material, or quality issues to the appropriate supervisor.
• Perform other machine shop and production duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Previous machine shop, manufacturing, fabrication, or production experience preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Interest in learning CNC and automated manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to learn and safely operate robotic saws and tube laser cutting equipment.
• Experience with CNC cutting or robotic welding is a plus.
• Ability to read basic measurements and use common measuring tools.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing/machine shop environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, move, and handle materials and parts as required.
• Ability to work around machinery, metal components, and industrial equipment.
• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
