Manual Machinist

 

We are seeking 2nd shift!

 

Responsibilities:

 

1. Set up and operation of all manual machining and grinding processes. These machines include:
1. Conventional lathes
2. VTL’s
3. Milling machines
4. Cylindrical, spherical, surface and planetary grinding equipment
5. Drill presses
2. Interpretation of blueprints and mechanical drawings
3. Advanced machining skills on complex component geometries
4. Input into the setup and processing of more complex part times
5. Technical supervision of lower machinist class levels
6. Some mentor ship and training of lower level machinists & others as required by the work type

Qualifications:

 

1. This role expects that the individual can work with no supervision
2. Must know machinability of materials as well as advanced setup techniques
3. Must be able to troubleshoot set-ups and processes
4. Understand mathematics (trigonometry, geometry etc.) principles
5. Be able to calculate & set controls to regulate machining factors, such as speeds, feeds, depth and angle of cut

 

EDUCATION

High School Diploma. One year certificate from college or technical school and basic mechanical aptitude preferred.
