EHS Manager

Express Employment Professionals is partnering with a global manufacturing company to find an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead and strengthen safety initiatives at their Wenatchee-area manufacturing operation.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced EHS professional who enjoys being hands-on, working with plant leadership and employees, and making a measurable impact on workplace safety and environmental compliance.
What You'll Do
As the EHS Manager, you will serve as the site's subject matter expert for environmental, health, and safety matters. You'll work closely with plant leadership, supervisors, HR, and employees to build a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS programs that comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Partner with plant leadership to establish and execute safety strategies that support operational goals and continuous improvement.
- Promote a strong safety culture through employee engagement, accountability, recognition, and safety ownership.
- Conduct workplace risk assessments and implement controls to reduce hazards and prevent injuries and illnesses.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action plans.
- Monitor safety metrics and KPIs to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations and manage required reporting.
- Develop, deliver, and evaluate safety training programs for employees, supervisors, and managers.
- Conduct routine safety audits, inspections, and compliance assessments.
- Lead emergency preparedness and response programs, including drills and training.
- Coach supervisors and managers on safety leadership, accountability, and best practices.
- Coordinate workers' compensation claims management and partner with HR and third-party administrators on return-to-work programs.
- Serve as the primary EHS contact during regulatory inspections and audits.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing risk and improving operational performance.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will bring significant EHS leadership experience within a manufacturing environment and the ability to influence employees and leaders at all levels.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive EHS leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental compliance requirements.
- Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Experience performing risk assessments and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Experience developing and delivering safety training.
- Experience conducting EHS audits and compliance assessments.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence positive safety culture change.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with employees and leaders at all levels of an organization.
