We are seeking a 2nd shift deburring and finishing operator to join a metal manufacturing team in Oregon.

 

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Check jobs and prioritize by due date
  • Review job traveler for deburring instructions
  • Review job instructions and select deburring equipment for production run
  • Use pallet jack to move the skid of parts to the appropriate machine, load the appropriate amount and monitor operation until parts meet deburring and drying requirements
  • Responsible for other deburring and related operations while the machine completes its cycle
  • Unload parts into proper container as outlined on routing sheet
  • Hand count or weight count
  • Empty pans are cleaned out and lined with paper. Operator is required to lift pans of parts weighing up to 75 pounds or more to a height of approximately five feet in order to put parts into related equipment. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
1. Operator is required to select the appropriate machine to produce the specified results.
2. Operator must be able to prioritize job runs and coordinate with other departments.
3. Operator will make periodic Quality Control inspections which may require charting to the statistical
process control procedure and report any discrepancies to the supervisor or quality control.
4. Operator must adhere to safety rules and safe operating procedures, etc. when operating equipment,
forklifts, overhead cranes and related equipment.
5. Operator is responsible for completing appropriate related paperwork such as count sheets, quality control forms, job orders, labels, move tickets, etc.
6. Operator may be required to run more than one machine simultaneously and meet the established quality and job standards.
7. Multifunctional operations may require the operator to coordinate activities with other plant personnel in order to complete job assignment.
8. Operators are required to operate weight count scales and follow appropriate weight counting techniques, and be able to operate ultra sonic and related washing equipment.
9. Job requires individual to be able to successfully follow verbal and written instruction, perform computer functions, perform basic mathematical tasks. Able to distinguish and recognize different deburring compounds and cleaning agents and their proper handling as outlined by the written procedures and MSDS form.
10. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds, be able to twist, bend, reach, climb, stand or sit as job requires.
11. Must adhere to company safety rules and safe operating procedures.
12. Must understand and adhere to all applicable procedures and work instructions as defined in the company's Quality Management System.
13. Must understand and properly execute any applicable tasks required in the company ERP system.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.
15. Satisfactory attendance and satisfactory work record are required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1. Ability to prioritize work schedule.
2. Knowledgeable about various cleaning agents, including the proper use of various media and compounds that are used to clean and deburr parts.
3. Individual should have mechanical abilities and be able to use various hand tools, wrenches, gauges, etc.
4. Operator must have the skill and ability to operate forklift, hand pallet jack, overhead crane and related equipment.
5. Must be able to effectively interact with other departmental personnel and exchange pertinent information.

 

Hours: 2nd shift, 3:30pm-2am Monday-Thursday

 

Pay: $14/hour
