Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Welder for a company that specializes in long-lasting industrial component protection and repair. Located in Buffalo, NY. This is an excellent temp-to-hire opportunity! 

 

Shift: Monday to Thursday, 6am–4:30pm (four 10-hour days) 

Payrate: $26-28/hr based on experience

 

Summary: The Welder is responsible for fabricating, fitting, welding and repairing metal components and assemblies using various welding processes, equipment and materials in accordance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and production schedules. The Welder is expected to maintain estimated production times while ensuring product quality, workplace safety, and adherence to company standards.

 

Essential Job Duties:

• Welding & Fabrication: Read work order procedures, select appropriate tools/materials, prep and tack components, and execute multi-process welding (TIG, MIG, Torch, Arc, Sub Arc, PTA) and repairs.
• Quality Control & Inspection: Monitor welds to prevent heat distortion, inspect in-process and finished parts using precision tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges), and identify defects.
• Production & Efficiency: Meet daily production targets, log output accurately, troubleshoot basic equipment issues, and collaborate with supervisors to keep shop workflows on schedule.
• Safety & Operations: Comply with OSHA regulations and company safety standards, wear required PPE, maintain an organized workspace, and report safety concerns promptly.
• General: Conduct routine equipment maintenance, assist with mentoring junior welders, and complete related tasks as assigned.

 

Requirements: 

• Education & Experience: High School Diploma or GED required; trade school background and extensive welding or custom job shop experience preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in welding processes, blueprint reading, technical documentation, and precision measuring tools.
• Workplace Capabilities: Basic shop math and computer skills for documentation and basic programming.
• Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, clear communication, positive attitude, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
