Pay: $16.00/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-hour rotating schedule between 5:30 AM and 8:00 PM

Position Overview
Express Employment Professionals in Waterloo is seeking a Cook to join a local team. This position is responsible for preparing and serving food, maintaining clean food service areas and equipment, assisting customers, and helping train and supervise student staff. The ideal candidate will have previous cooking experience, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve food according to established recipes and guidelines
• Maintain cleanliness of food preparation areas, serving equipment, and facilities
• Provide excellent customer service while serving patrons
• Assist with food stocking and inventory management
• Train and supervise student staff as assigned
• Follow food safety and sanitation procedures at all times
• Ensure food quality and presentation standards are met
• Support daily kitchen operations and team objectives

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 9 months previous cooking experience required
• ServSafe Certification required or ability to obtain certification
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to train and supervise others effectively
• Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and move throughout the entire shift
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Frequent walking, bending, reaching, and carrying items
• Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment
