Production Worker / Machine Operator

Our client, a well-established manufacturing facility in Ottawa, is seeking a Production Worker / Machine Operator to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic production environment where safety, quality, and teamwork are valued.
Required skills and qualifications:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is considered an asset
- Previous machine operation experience is preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of safe food handling practices and food quality standards
- Strong attention to detail with excellent observational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn new processes, follow procedures, and adapt to changing production needs
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and committed to maintaining quality standards
- Capable of lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 30 lbs
- Able to stand and walk for extended periods, including full 8-hour shifts
- Comfortable working in a refrigerated production environment maintained at approximately 10°C
- Able to perform physical tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining productivity and attention to detail
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Safely operate, start, stop, and monitor production equipment in accordance with established procedures
- Follow work instructions, production schedules, product specifications, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure quality and efficiency
- Monitor equipment performance and promptly report any operational issues, malfunctions, or quality concerns
- Complete required production, quality, and operational records accurately and in a timely manner
- Perform basic equipment adjustments, cleaning, and product changeovers as required
- Use production tools and equipment safely and effectively while maintaining a clean and organized work area
- Assist with routine equipment maintenance and identify potential mechanical issues for timely resolution
- Support production goals by ensuring equipment is properly prepared, maintained, and operating efficiently throughout the production process
Wage: $19.95 per hour
Day Shift: 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
Training will be completed on the Afternoon Shift from 2:45 PM to 11:15 PM
Afternoon Shift: 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM
Training will be completed on the Day Shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
Candidates must be available to attend the designated training schedule before transitioning to their regular shift assignment.
