Join a dynamic food production team in Ottawa's East End! Our client is currently hiring a Kitchen Worker/Cook who is passionate about food quality, teamwork, and maintaining high production standards.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to workplace safety and safe operating practices
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or food production environment is considered an asset
  • Familiarity with food safety and safe food handling practices is preferred
  • Possesses strong attention to detail and a focus on quality
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and adapt to changing production requirements
  • Capable of lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 20-30 lbs
  • Able to stand and walk for extended periods, including full 8-hour shifts
  • Comfortable working in a refrigerated production environment
  • Reliable, dependable, and able to maintain productivity in a fast-paced setting

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Follow standardized recipes, ingredient specifications, and production procedures to ensure consistent product quality
  • Accurately weigh, measure, and stage ingredients according to production requirements
  • Prepare and cook products while monitoring cooking times, temperatures, and appearance to meet quality standards
  • Maintain consistency in product taste, texture, and appearance across all production batches
  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and allergen control procedures
  • Ensure workstations, equipment, utensils, and production areas are cleaned and sanitized according to company standards
  • Properly handle, store, and rotate ingredients and materials to maintain freshness and food safety
  • Monitor production processes and identify any quality or process deviations, taking corrective action as required
  • Maintain accurate production records and comply with company policies, safety requirements, and quality assurance procedures
  • Support efficient production operations by organizing materials, preparing work areas, and collaborating with team members to meet production goals

Wage: $19.95 per hour

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM
Training will be conducted from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
