Diesel Mechanic

Express Employment Professionals in Athens, TX is seeking an experienced and dependable Diesel Mechanic to join a local company. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of hands-on diesel mechanic experience and strong diagnostic and repair skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine engine maintenance, scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), and DOT inspections.

• Diagnose, adjust, and repair light- and heavy-duty diesel equipment.

• Repair electrical, brake, cooling, A/C, engine, transmission, clutch, differential, and steering systems.

• Diagnose issues using handheld computers, pressure gauges, and other testing equipment.

• Document completed work, parts used, findings, and upload photos as required.

• Complete DOT forms and other required documentation accurately and timely.

• Manage parts inventory and equipment on a service truck.

• Work independently while maintaining a productive daily schedule.

• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and vendors.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on diesel mechanic experience required.

• Experience with on-highway equipment such as heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and buses.

• Experience with off-highway equipment such as agricultural, construction, oilfield equipment, forklifts, RVs, and tractors.

• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills.
