Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Cylindrical Grinder Operator to set up, operate, and maintain their own job on a cylindrical grinder. This role is responsible for grinding all diameters on shafts to precise size and finish specifications, along with swinging motors using an engine lathe. This is a hands-on, individual-contributor position requiring strong blueprint reading skills and precision measurement experience.

Key Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and maintain own job on the cylindrical grinder. Grind all diameters on shafts requiring grinding to the capabilities of the machine, achieving specified size and finish. Read and interpret detailed blueprints to determine grinding specifications and tolerances. Use and read micrometers measuring to .0001", along with tools that measure surface finish, to verify parts meet requirements. Swing motors using the engine lathe as required. Perform work in a standing position for the duration of the shift. Complete testing as required to verify part quality (additional testing details to be confirmed with the client).

Experience Required

Experience operating a cylindrical grinder required.

Physical Requirements

Standing for entire shift. Occasional lifting of more than 50 lbs.
